SF Opera Opening Night Gala

SF's social set enjoyed a warm, glamorous Friday evening at the War Memorial Opera House. Patrons, such as parents-to-be Mayor Gavin and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, joined SF Opera's general director, David Gockley, and SF Opera Guild members for the Opening Night gala honoring the Opera's 87th season. This year's sold-out, black-tie gala, featured a masterful performance of Verdi's Il Trovatore. The Opera was followed by a seated dinner with decor by Stanlee Gatti and catering by McCall & Associates. Proceeds from Opera Ball 2009 benefit SF Opera and SF Opera Guild's educational programs.
