Marissa Mayer

Marissa Mayer

You all look so fabulous, darlings, that we could never choose the best among you. So, for the sixth year running, we happily put the onus on you to tell us who is the Bay Area’s Best Dressed. And you thrilled us with your well-thought and fashionable responses! See below.

The nominations were vast and varied this year, representing the eclectic excellence (might we say eclecellence?!) that defines Bay Area style.

Thank you to all of those who submitted nominations. Your enthusiasm and watchful eye are ever appreciated.

As is tradition, our winners will be added to our Hall of Fame list of previous winners (note that past winners cannot win again nor are they mentioned as nominees or runners up; we know they are fantastic dressers! That’s why they’re in our Hall of Fame!).

Women: Lindsay Bolton, Emily Fowler, Kelly Grimes, Sobia Shaikh

Men: Robert Mailer Anderson, Ted Deikel, Stanlee Gatti, Jake Heggie, Todd Traina

We were thrilled this year to once again receive your numerous ebullient nominations for the Gazette’s Annual Bay Area Best. Here we share a smattering of our favorite comments.

“Mai Shiver, she always looks amazing, young but classic.”

“I cannot believe Lindsay Bolton is not one of the Best Dressed already. She is definitely my nomination!”

“Anette Harris is a classy lady with a lot of style and poise and she tops the list!”
“Jody Thelander, coolest of the cool and the most original.”
“Jill Chozen, elegance with flair and just the right amount of flash.”
“Afsaneh (Sunny) Akhtari because she is always fabulously put together from head to foot!”
“Debbie Bocci—she always is wearing an outfit with a fresh twist.”
“Elizabeth Touw for her Dolce dress at the mid Winter Gala; Kelly Grimes for her Colleen Quen Couture when she chaired Black & White Ball (she said it weighed twelve pounds!); Sobia Shaika for her Pakistani saris (always bought abroad). These girls always bring style to SF because they are not off-the-rack shoppers. They take risks and do not always play it safe. We need that in SF and the not the typical ensemble for every event. I am sure their clothes are pricey, but that is not the point: all of these girls have style and stand out! And that is SF to me.”
You said it!
