This month I think you’ll see that our magazine is in a recovery mode. Compared to the “annus
horribilis” of 2009, we’ve a very healthy June issue. We thank our advertisers and our loyal readers for this most encouraging news. (Glimmer on ye gods of publishing!)
Nepotism lives! Thank you, too, for all of the fabulous comments concerning our Website’s first party video. Yes, the videographer is my relative and abundantly talented, as you can see; you’ll see many more of her party videos in the fall.
Best of all! On the note of upcoming issues, next month is our Best Dressed and Best Of! issue, and we want your nominations!
Back to the issue in hand, you might notice our nod to men herein. Men, we love ’em! And so, we asked three local lads for their fashionable advice. Speaking of local (sort of) lads, we also profile John Waters in this issue (he does live part-time in the city), and he naughtily answered our editor’s questions.
All of this in addition to an abundance of great photos and our regular fun and fabulous columns, including the newest: our “Nutrition” column by Kate Hantman. Also, in “Wine Wisdom,” Ed Schwartz covers spirits, and in “Wheels,” Martin Swig tells us all about the newly opened (and beautiful) Mullin Automotive Museum.
To sign off, I leave you with an oh so wise quote from Zenna Scheffer: “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and you get rid of him for a whole weekend.”
