Wilkes Bashford - The New Look Of A Beloved Boutique

The famed San Francisco men’s and women’s upscale clothier formed a partnership last year with The Mitchells Family of Stores. The result is an exciting array of new offerings.

We checked in with our beloved haberdasher Wilkes Bashford recently to find out what’s new since Bashford joined forces with the East Coast–based Mitchells Family of Stores. We were happy to find Wilkes’s smile as bright as ever.

“There couldn’t be a better or more natural match for us,” says Wilkes about the partnership. “In my opinion, it is a match made in heaven! How lucky it is in today’s world when that happens?”
A trip to the San Francisco or Palo Alto locations reveals a selection of fashionable changes.

Be assured, the level of customer care and service—a common trait both entities are known for—remains the same: excellent.

“Wilkes and I have been friends and mutual admirers for over twenty-five years,” says Jack Mitchell, CEO of The Mitchells Family of Stores. “We share the same values of exceptional customer service, fashion-forward sensibilities, and a strong commitment to community service, so we’re extremely proud to add Wilkes Bashford to our family of stores.  ”

Customers will be delightfully enticed by the abundance of new merchandise (much of which is exclusive), array of designer trunk shows and fashion events, and wider price point spectrum.

Among the stellar events are “Fall into Fashion” co-hosted by Italian Trade Commission (September 22), which will feature the best in Italian fashion in a live fashion show at Wilkes SF, as well as trunk shows featuring such sought-after talents as Kimberly McDonald (September 30), and the men’s and women’s fashion of Brunello Cucinelli (October 29-30).

“It’s a very exciting time at Wilkes Bashford,” adds Jack. “We’re bringing in new lines, planning a remodel, and every season, we will shake things up a bit. We love to have fun with fashion.”

There’s a special emphasis on more for women to choose from. Among the new lines for the ladies are: Andrew Gn, Sonya Rykiel, Behnaz Sarafpour, and Veronica Beard. There will also be loads of new shoe and jewelry designers. Look for customizable options from Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, and exclusive selections from Olop, LAI, and Mauro Governo. For jewelry, you’ll now find Temple St. Claire, as well as unique pieces from Diamond in the Rough, Kimberly McDonald, and Paul Morelli.
And men, don’t worry; your needs are being attended to as always. New or largely expanded lines for the gents include Ermenegildo Zegna, Brunello Cucinelli, Stefano Ricci, and Hamilton Custom Shirts. And you’ll find new and exclusive leather bags and accessories by Moore and Giles. Of course, that’s all in addition to the favorites you’ve already come to trust.

Go for the enhancements and stay to spoil yourselves. We’re not even going to apologize for giving you a(nother) perfect excuse to shop.
