The Cotillion has enjoyed a colorful and storied place in San Francisco’s history. A gracious tradition that is renewed every year, the Cotillion symbolizes the coming of age of a young woman when she makes her official debut and bow to society—and many former debutantes cheer each perfectly executed curtsy. It continues to be a spectacular evening, and the annual December 22 event held at the Palace Hotel was no exception. A swirl of long white satin gowns, white ties and tails—and glorious flowers— provided a visual banquet, and the superb supper and music by the Earl Heckscher Orchestra didn’t disappoint. With a guest list of notable family and friends, this special night created wonderful, life-long memories for all.
