Here is a rare chance to hear from one of the world’s most famous monarchs. Prince Albert of Monaco will discuss “The State of the Oceans in the Modern World” and his commitment to the environment. In June 2006, the prince set up the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation dedicated to protecting the environment. It encourages sustainable and fair management of natural resources and places man at the center of its projects. It supports the implementation of innovative and ethical solutions in three broad areas: climate change, water, and biodiversity.

Prince Albert is the son of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly. H.S.H. Prince Albert II studied political science, economics, psychology, English literature, the history of art, anthropology, geology, philosophy, sociology, German and music at Amherst College in Massachusetts.

Location: Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel, Peacock Court, 999 California St., San Francisco
Time: 11 a.m. check-in, 12-12:45 p.m. program
Cost: General admission: $25 non-members, $15 members, $10 students (with valid ID). Premium (reserved seats in front): $40 non-members, $30 members.
