TheBalm Debuts in San Francisco

by Teresa Rodriguez

The chic Valencia Street neighborhood is now the home of a colorful boutique called theBalm. TheBalm debuted with a grand opening celebration in January, where guests sipped on pink cocktails and Champagne while perusing the various makeup stations and offerings such as the “Eye Shadow Bar,” where you can create custom shadow palettes; “Quiet on the Set,” for complimentary makeup applications, complete with a recorded take home iPad tutorial video–the first of its kind to be used in-store; eye brow and facial waxing at the “Get Your Wax On” station; as well as polish changes and a sampling of various luxury beauty treatments through “Retail Therapy.” Guests also learned more about theBalm’s artistry classes and theBalm parties.

The unique cosmetic line, known for its clever packaging centered on women empowerment and high-performance paraben and cruelty-free products, launched in 2004 by founder and CEO Marissa Shipman. Built solely through word of mouth and excellent results, theBalm has earned an impeccable reputation in the industry, leading to the opening of the new flagship store.
