PRINTING

• Cover wrap is heatset on 60lb #3 gloss book. Expect dot gain of 10-15%. 4 color total ink density not to exceed 280%. Halftone highlight dot not to exceed 5%. Shadow dot not to exceed 80%. Inside guts is heatset on 40lb #5 groundwood Stock. Ink density is same as cover wrap.
• Line screen is 150 lines per inch. Images saved at 300 dpi.

METHODS FOR SENDING ADS

• Please send a CD with high resolution CMYK or Grayscale images at 300 dpi as Photoshop, Illustrator EPS or TIFF formats or Acrobat PDF, or e-mail files to prod@nobhillgazette.com. Include a printout with any disks provided.

FILE FORMATS

• Application files (QuarkXpress 6.5, Adobe Illustrator CS2), image files (TIFF or EPS) or Adobe Acrobat PDF (version 6.0).
• RGB images MUST be converted to Grayscale or CMYK.
• Scan bitmap images at 300 to 600 dpi.

FONTS

• Include both screen and printer versions of all fonts used, including those within embedded EPS artwork.
• Do not use TrueType fonts, as they are incompatible with our imagesetters. Any TrueType fonts will be substituted with their closest available Postscript equivalents from the Adobe Type Library, but these are not guaranteed to match.
• Adobe Illustrator: Convert all fonts to outlines.
• No Multi Master fonts accepted.

AD PROOFS:

• If requested, proofs will be provided to advertisers whose ads require our production work or copy changes. Advertisers are permitted to make one change. If more corrections are necessary, changes will be made if the deadline schedule allows, and time will be billed at the prevailing production rate of $75 per hour.
• Advertisers who submit copy after the deadline might not see a proof. No credit adjustments will be made for errors which do not materially affect the content of the ad.

PDF FILES

We recommend using Adobe Acrobat Distiller to create PDFs from PostScript files. (Acrobat Reader will not let you create PDF files.) With PDF files, you do not need to send included images or fonts because Distiller can embed these for you. Note
however that Distiller does not automatically embed all fonts into a PDF document unless this option is selected before beginning the Distill process. Again, please avoid using TrueType fonts.
