Primo vino, philanthropy and luxe auction lots starred on September 10 at Napa’s Silverado Resort & Spa during the 26th Annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs, a flagship event that raised $1.3 million for Family House San Francisco.
Led by co-chairs ScottMiller and SpencerWang, 260 guests at this Wine Country fete — which, since inception, has raised some $14 million — also honored the devotion of attorney MegNibbi and her husband, BobNibbi, a Family House trustee and president of Nibbi Brothers General Contractors. This born-in-EssEff, third-generation family business (founded by his grandfather) initially connected with Family House on a remodel of the nonprofit’s former Sunset district free, home-away-from-home for families of children undergoing cancer treatments at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
But the connection evolved into more than another renovation job. In 2017, the firm not only built, but also helped fundraise for the organization’s Nancy and Stephen Grand Family House, a five-story, 80-family residence in Mission Bay. And for Nibbi, with his company and family — including father SergioNibbi and uncle LarryNibbi — the work of Family House is so inspiring, they’ve remained stalwart partners and volunteers.
“The selfless compassion, care and courage that the Nibbis have showered on Family House is more than a joy,” toasted Family House CEO AlexandraMorgan. “It is what makes us successful, and what makes Family House one of the best places for our families to find respite during the most difficult time of their lives.”
