For 19 years, Dean served as CEO of Dignity Health (previously Catholic Healthcare West), which merged with Catholic Health Initiatives in 2019 to form CommonSpirit Health. In 2020, Dean was appointed its sole CEO, leading the $30 billion organization. This summer, Lloyd Dean will retire — a concept he has a hard time wrapping his head around: “I’ve worked since I was 10.”
